Manufactured by General Electric Company in 1915, this 3,000 VDC electric locomotive ran on the electrified tracks of The Milwaukee Road between Harlowton, Montana and Avery, Idaho.
The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad electrified 440 miles for their trains to cross the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. These electric locomotives were powered by substations that converted 110,000 volt AC current to 3,300 volts DC. The electric operations ended during June 1974.
